Installation

Unique Article Publisher is distributed as a Windows Installer MSI file. Just double-click on the file and the standard Windows software installation process will start.

Follow the instructions in the installation process to select a directory where to install the program.

Windows Installer 2.0 is required to be installed on your computer. Windows XP already has this installed. If the installation process does not start when you double-click on the UniqueArticlePublisher.MSI file, then you may need to download Windows Installer 2.0 from Microsoft:

Update Data Files

The first time you start Unique Article Publisher you will be prompted to update the program.

A new data file is ready to be downloaded. Please click the Update button to download it now!

Click OK (twice) and when the main screen is shown click on the Update button. A status message is shown briefly at the top of the screen when the update process is started. Be patient and wait several minutes until another status message is shown briefly. Click on the Close button and restart Unique Article Publisher. If the update process was successful then the program will start immediately without the update message.

Periodically new updates are made available and you will be then be prompted to update Unique Article Publisher the next time you start the program.

Creating Resource Boxes

The resource box is the section at the bottom of an article with information about the author. You have 3-4 lines of text to promote yourself and your website. The text should contain a link back to your website. This will be picked up by search engines and improve your search engine ranking. Be sure to enter the complete URL including the http:// prefix. Example: http://www.UniqueArticlePublisher.com

For Unique Article Publisher you do not create just one resource box. In order for the program to submit many variations of your article, including the resource box, you should create as many variations as possible of your resource box. Use your imagination and create at least 20 variations for maximum effectiveness.

Create a simple text file using Notepad, or your favorite text editor. (If you are using MS Word or another word processing program you need to save the file as a text file.) Write the first variation, and then leave a blank line (but not more than one) before the next variation. It is important that you do not leave any blank lines at the end. Go to the last line of the file and press backspace until the cursor is just after the last character on the last line of text in the file.

All publishers have their own particular preference for how they would like the article formatted. To serve the needs of most publishers and that of Unique Article Publisher, you should ensure that each line in your resource box and your articles do not exceed 60 characters.

Save your resource box as a text file in the Unique Article Publisher directory (e.g. c:\Program Files\Unique Article Publisher). The recommended naming convention for the file is: topic-resource.txt, e.g. music-resource.txt

Write Your Original Article

The first line of your article is the title. Leave exactly one blank line between the title and the first paragraph of the article.

Continue writing the article with exactly one blank line between each paragraph. For maximum effectiveness of Unique Article Publisher, your article must be at least 5 paragraphs long.

Each line of text in your article must not exceed 60 characters (just like the resource box).

Save your article as a text file in the Unique Article Publisher directory (e.g. c:\Program Files\Unique Article Publisher). The recommended naming convention for the file is: topic-1a.txt, e.g. music-1a.txt

Write Article Variations

For Unique Article Publisher to work its magic you need to create two variations of your original article.

Open your original article topic-1a.txt and immediately save the article again (in the Unique Article Publisher directory) as topic-1b.txt

Rewrite the article, including the title, one paragraph at a time. Each paragraph should say essentially the same thing, just with slightly different wording. It is important that you keep the same structure of the article and exactly the same number of paragraphs in each variation of the article.

Repeat the same process once more; saving the article as topic-1c.txt

When Unique Article Publisher submits your article to an article directory or an ezine, it will randomly select each paragraph from the set of three article variations. The resulting article for each publisher is very likely to be unique. If your article has just 7 paragraphs plus a title, the number of unique articles that can be created from your 3 article variations is 6,561.

Rewriting My Article Is Too Much Work

If you only want to use the article submission feature of Unique Article Publisher, you can technically submit the same article to all publishers. Just save your original article-1a.txt as both article-1b.txt and article-1c.txt

But we really recommend against this. Rewriting your article doesn't take nearly as long as writing the original article. By spending that little extra time, you will benefit greatly from the enduring inbound links resulting from all the unique variations of your article.

Publish Your Article

Start Unique Article Publisher. In the main screen enter your author name (or your pen name) and your email address. The URL field is automatically populated based on your email address. If your email address is different from your website address, e.g. if you're using a Yahoo or Hotmail email account, then you need to change the URL manually.

Then enter the filename of the original article, e.g. music-1a.txt. If you have followed the suggested naming conventions above, then the other fields will be populated with the right values. If you didn't, you can manually change each field.

If you leave the checkbox for "Submit To Internal Publication List" checked, your article will be submitted to the thousands of publishers already configured in Unique Article Publisher.

If you have created your own external publication list (see below for instructions) and you want to send this article to that list, then check "Submit To External Publication List". When you check this checkbox you also need to fill in the fields below it:

When all the fields are filled in, click the Submit button. At the top of the screen a status message will show the progress and how many publishers your article has been submitted to. Note that this process can take an hour with a fast Internet connection, and several hours if you have a slower connection. During the process it is normal for Unique Article Publisher to consume 50-90% of the CPU. So don't plan on doing other resource intensive things on your computer at the same time.

Adding External Publications

You can extend Unique Article Publisher to submit articles to your own lists of publishers. This is done by creating external publication lists, and you can have as many lists as you want.

An external publication list is a simple text file with the following format:

email address, name of publication, first name of editor, last name of editor (optional)

If you don't know the name of the editor, use "Editor", or a similar generic title.

Example:

articles@coolezine.com,Cool eZine,Jane,Smith
editor@bignewsletter.com,The Big Newsletter,Editor

Do not enter any spaces around the commas.

There is no limitation on how long each line may be. You can even enter more fields (separated by commas) with your own comments after the last name.

Save your article as a text file in the Unique Article Publisher directory (e.g. c:\Program Files\Unique Article Publisher). The recommended naming convention for the file is: topic-external.txt, e.g. music-external.txt, where the topic reflects the type of articles the publishers in the list generally accept.

Creating an Email Template

An email template is used when you send articles to an external publication list. The article itself is sent as an email and the text you place in the template is included in that email.

Here's an example of a template:

Hi {ezinefirst},

I have enclosed a copy of my latest article. You may use it
in your ezine {ezinename}, or on your web site.

Regards,
{fromname}

Here is the article:
*********** BEGIN ARTICLE ***********

Text surrounded by brackets, e.g. {ezinefirst}, is replaced with values from the external publication list file. Here are the valid variables you can use:

The text of the article is added at the end.

Make sure that no text line in your template exceeds 60 characters. This ensures that your email is readable in most email programs.

Save the template as a text file in the Unique Article Publisher directory (e.g. c:\Program Files\Unique Article Publisher). The recommended naming convention for the file is: topic-template.txt, e.g. music-template.txt
